Primary Dance will introduce Ballet basics and Modern movement while developing coordination, strength, and flexibility. It will foster a love of movement and dance while allowing students to be creative and build self – confidence.

Dress Code
- Solid Pink Leotard
- Light Pink or White Tights
- Pink Ballet Shoes
Students must have hair up in a slicked-back Ballet bun (or off of face and neck for those with shorter hair)
Pink Ballet skirts are allowed, but please ensure the dancer can still see their feet.
Please ensure Ballet shoes have leather bottoms and do not have slippery material on the bottom.

Fall-Spring Dance Schedule
Primary Ballet/Tap
A combination Ballet/Tap class for kindergarten – 2nd grade, covering the same curriculum as Ballet/Tap 1.

Prima teachers prefer leotards without large mesh cutouts in midriff and/or down the front center
Students must have hair up in a slicked back Ballet bun (or off of face and neck for those with shorter hair)

Kinderballet/Tap
A combination Ballet/Tap class for students who are in kindergarten. This class is designed to develop the student’s beginning Ballet and Tap vocabulary and technique.

Fall-Spring Dance Schedule
Ballet/Tap 1
A combination Ballet/Tap class focusing on beginning Ballet barre, center floor and traveling steps and combinations. Students are expected to learn fundamental Ballet and Tap vocabulary and technique.

Fall-Spring Dance Schedule
Ballet 2-6
Prima offers these continuing levels of Classical Ballet through Level 6. Ballet is the foundation for all of dance. It promotes physical strength and agility, can boost concentration, develops and understanding of music and rhythm, and generates a love of movement.
On average, dancers stay in each level for two to three years with consecutive years of study.

Prerequisites
- Level 2 - Ages 7 - 8
- Level 3 - Ages 8 - 11
- Level 4 - Ages 10 - 14
- Level 4P - Ages 11 - 14. This is the year of going on Pointe; students who are considered for Pointe must have at least three consecutive years of Ballet experience at Prima, and turn 12 by October of the year they go on pointe.
- Level 5 - Ages 14 - 18
- Level 6 - Ages 14 - 18
Dress Code
- Solid black leotard
- Ballet pink tights (which are a light flesh-colored pink)
- Pink Ballet shoes
