These classes are offered throughout the summer to help students in Kindergarten through High School grow in their dance ability and keep the technique they have worked to achieve throughout the year. Students planning on auditioning for Prima’s Company need to be registered for this Technique Summer Session. Training Group students are strongly recommended to take this class and students who are registered for the Technique Tuesdays and Thursdays classes in the summer will be given priority in registering for Training Group in the Fall.

JUNE
Pre-pointe/Pointe Strength and Technique Intensive
This intensive will focus on helping students achieve the proper strength, technique, and knowledge they need for success in their personal pointe work. We have seen great success in our students’ pointe work when they apply the knowledge gained in this workshop. This intensive is open to pre-pointe, beginning pointe, and intermediate pointe students. *This workshop is a requirement for those who are beginning pointe this year. Students will be evaluated during this 3 day intensive and have 2 Progress Check-in Workshops to determine if they are eligible to safely begin pointe.

Creative Movement/Tumbling Summer Session
Don’t miss the opportunity to take this fun dance and tumbling class for your 3-6-year-olds. This 3-week session will give them a wonderful foundation of dance and tumbling! This session will set them up for success in a variety of movement styles in their future. It is also a great way to sample dance and tumbling while providing an enriching experience for your child!

This workshop is a perfect opportunity to sample different or new styles of dance, as it is designed to expose students to a variety of dance styles so they can “try out” styles they may be interested in taking in the future! Training Group Pixies and Minis Summer Intensive
The Minis and Pixies Training Groups provide a great opportunity for younger students who want to learn and perform in addition to their regular classes. This camp is for students who are in our Training Group Minis or Pixies level or are interested in being in one of these performance groups. Students will be exposed to a variety of dance styles including pre-jazz and tricks for dancers. They will also learn excerpts of choreography that will be used in their performance dance pieces throughout the year. This camp is required for the Pixies and Minis Training Group students.

Training Group Summer Intensive
The “Training Group” (TG) is Prima’s premier performance group. Being a part of this group allows students opportunities to perform at a variety of venues throughout the year. Students will learn new dances and work to improve their dance ability. The last day of the intensive will include auditions for Prima’s Training Group. This Summer Intensive is required for all Training Group students.
Note: There is a minimum class requirement to be part of the Training Group year-round.
*Junior, Pre-Teen, Teen, and Senior Training Groups will not be in session for November and December. This will allow our committed Training Group dancers to still be involved in the community outreach that TG offers, but it will also bring some extra time to our dancers during a busy season. There will be no tuition charge for the Training Group for these two months.
