Hip hop is a current style of street dance that includes foundational old-school styles like locking and popping as well as current popular commercial styles of hip hop.
Hip Hop Jam

Hip Hop Jam is a fun, energetic class that exposes girls and boys to the athletic style of hip hop.

Kindergarten – 4th grade

Solid color leotard
T-shirt
Solid color leggings or joggers
Tennis shoes or hip hop sneakers (cannot be worn outside)
Hair secured off of neck and out of face

Hip Hop 3–6

Students who are in hip hop are strongly encouraged to take jazz to improve their strength, technique, and overall dance and performance ability. Levels will be determined similarly to the other dance styles offered at Prima.

Level 3: Ages 8–11 (3rd grade minimum)
Level 4: Ages 10–14 (5th grade minimum; placement required)
Level 5: Ages 13–18 (8th grade minimum; placement required)
Level 6: Ages 14–18 (10th grade minimum; placement required)

Acro / Hip Hop 1

A great class for both boys and girls, Acro / Hip Hop 1 combines the fun, athletic style of hip hop with acrobatic tricks.

2nd – 4th grade

Girls: Plain leotard, leggings, sweatpants, or shorts (comfortable clothing they can move in)
Boys: Plain T-shirt, sweatpants, or shorts (comfortable clothing they can move in)
Both: Bare feet
